The Details Behind The Promise

What Do Permanent Lighting Warranties Actually Cover?

Compare the lights, controllers and other parts separately from installation labor. Check the purchase date, registration deadline, transfer rules and exclusions. A lifetime product warranty does not automatically pay for service visits, labor or storm damage. Your proposal should identify who provides each part of the coverage.

Why Warranty Headlines Can Be Misleading

A long bulb warranty can leave a shorter controller warranty or a separate labor bill. The meaning of lifetime, and what happens when the home changes owners, also varies. Compare the same components and keep the written terms with your proposal.

Manufacturer Coverage

Celebright

10-year parts warranty · labor confirmed separately

Components are covered against material and manufacturing defects for 10 years from purchase for systems purchased from January 1, 2025. Earlier purchases retain their original five-year, non-transferable coverage.

Labor: The current product policy provides parts repair or replacement; it does not state an installation-labor term. Obtain the installer's separate written coverage.

  • Transfer to a new homeowner is permitted for eligible systems; original installation and ownership evidence may be required.
  • Exclusions include improper installation, misuse, unauthorized repairs or alterations, non-Celebright components, cosmetic damage and normal wear. Nature-related damage, fire, flood, lightning, wind, surges and vandalism are excluded.
  • Claims go to an authorized dealer or Celebright support with purchase proof, installation date and defect details/photos. Inspection or a returned component may be required; the remedy is repair or replacement of defective parts.

Manufacturer Coverage

Gemstone Lights

Lifetime track lights · 10-year system parts · dealer labor separate

Track lights have manufacturer-defined lifetime coverage based on a tested 50,000-hour life; this is not a blanket 25-year warranty. Power kits, controllers, cables, connectors and tracks have 10-year coverage. Other product families have different terms.

Labor: Manufacturer coverage excludes installation labor and related installation costs. Dealer workmanship and service-call coverage are separate.

  • Register within 30 days of installation. Systems installed before October 1, 2024 retain their original five-year coverage.
  • One transfer is allowed within the original 10-year period, requested within 90 days of possession. The new owner receives the remaining coverage capped at two years.
  • The US policy excludes misuse, unauthorized installation/repair, non-Gemstone parts, normal wear, over-capacity operation and abnormal conditions including surges, lightning and severe weather.
  • Start a claim with the installer. Manufacturer returns require authorization; shipping and non-covered service costs may apply. Repair or replacement does not restart the original warranty.

Manufacturer Coverage

JellyFish Lighting

Product-specific confirmation needed · published terms differ

JellyFish's holiday-lighting page lists three years on parts, while its residential-lighting page lists five years. These public pages do not establish one duration for every product, installer or purchase date.

Labor: Both reviewed pages advertise one year of labor. Confirm that it applies to the selling installer and exact system in your proposal.

  • GLOWLI has not verified a complete policy covering exclusions, transferability, registration, shipping or claim deadlines for the proposed product.
  • Ask for the dated written warranty for the model being quoted. We do not select the longer duration or treat missing exclusions as unlimited coverage.

Public sources checked 2026-10-07. Written clarification is still needed. Your applicable written warranty determines coverage.

Manufacturer Coverage

Trimlight

Limited lifetime product coverage · dealer labor separate

The written limited warranty uses a 40-year-from-shipment or 50,000-hour bulb-life criterion, subject to its conditions. A repair or replacement does not begin a new full term.

Labor: Authorized dealers are responsible for installation warranties and associated labor costs. Obtain the local dealer's duration and service charges in writing.

  • Coverage requires proper storage, installation, use and maintenance. The published warranty is non-transferable.
  • Provide prompt written notice of a defect, no later than 30 days, with evidence. Inspection, samples and installation/maintenance records may be requested.
  • Exclusions include accidental damage, structural movement, misuse, vandalism, storms and other acts of nature, pollution, incompatible materials, mold/mildew, impact, water and ice damage.
  • The stated remedy is repair or replacement of qualifying defective product. Confirm the applicable warranty revision with the authorized dealer before ordering.

What Should Be In Your Written Proposal?

  • The exact product, coverage provider, applicable policy revision and start date.
  • Separate terms for bulbs, controllers, power supplies, track and installation labor.
  • Who pays for diagnosis, travel, access equipment, shipping and uncovered repairs.
  • Registration responsibilities, claim deadlines, evidence needed and transfer fees.
  • Exclusions, including weather, electrical damage and work by another contractor.

Ask GLOWLI to coordinate clarification with your proposed installer. A statement on a marketing page should be reconciled with the warranty supplied for your installation.

What Do Grandview And Setcon Publish?

Installer commitments sit alongside the manufacturer's coverage. These summaries do not expand service areas or mean that every brand is available for your address.

Installer Coverage

Grandview Lighting

Installer-published lifetime parts and labor coverage

Grandview advertises lifetime coverage for its installed fixtures, control equipment, wiring and smart controls. Its FAQ defines the term as while you own the home. This is Grandview's commitment, separate from Celebright's manufacturer policy.

Labor: Grandview advertises covered service calls and repair labor at no charge, subject to its exclusions and your installation agreement.

  • The page says registration is automatic at installation completion. A transfer to a new homeowner carries a stated $200 fee.
  • Despite a no-exclusions badge, the detailed section excludes nature-related damage, misuse, vandalism, unauthorized/third-party changes or repairs, cosmetic wear and rust/corrosion/oxidation.
  • Request the installation-specific certificate and written definition of lifetime, transfer conditions and service charges through GLOWLI before accepting a proposal.

Installer Coverage

Setcon Services

Installer-published five-year labor coverage

Setcon identifies Gemstone as the provider of lights and parts coverage. Use Gemstone's current product-specific terms for those components.

Labor: Setcon's website states five years of coverage for its own installation labor. This is an installer commitment, not an extension of Gemstone's product warranty.

  • The reviewed page does not fully specify labor exclusions, service-call charges, transferability of labor coverage or claim deadlines. GLOWLI will seek those terms for the written proposal.
  • Do not assume Setcon's labor transfers just because Gemstone permits a limited product-warranty transfer.

Public sources checked 2026-10-07. Written clarification is still needed. Your applicable written warranty determines coverage.

How Would This Work If A Controller Fails?

Illustrative scenario: your lights still work, but the controller stops responding. The bulb-warranty headline alone cannot answer whether the repair is covered. Check the controller's term, failure cause, installation date and registration, then the installer's diagnosis and labor terms. A covered part can still involve a charge that falls outside labor coverage.

How To Compare The Result

A useful comparison tells you which provider handles the claim, which component is covered, which costs remain yours and what evidence you must retain. If any of these are missing, request clarification before accepting the proposal.
